Our front line workers play a critical role in the response to COVID-19. To ensure Arizona’s first responders, critical healthcare workers, and essential government employees have the support they need to continue combatting COVID-19, the Governor’s office has partnered with local child care providers, nonprofit, education, and faith-based organizations to offer child care through Arizona Enrichment Centers.
Arizona is working with Arizona Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) to provide access to licensed child care facilities. We are also working with local nonprofit, education, and faith organizations to provide families with additional resources and care options when licensed child care is not available.
Our goal: To keep our frontline workers in the field serving Arizona residents and ensure Arizona kids are safe and supported.
The Arizona Enrichment Centers Program has been extended through August 31, 2020. For those currently enrolled and approved for priority care, no additional action is necessary to receive the extension through the end of August.
New applications for child care scholarships are no longer being accepted as of July 31, 2020.
The Governor’s Office has partnered with nonprofit, education, and faith-based organizations to offer additional resources aimed at caring for children. These are additional options for families. Organizations offer services for a variety of ages, depending on the unique needs within their community.
Supporting Child and Family Well-being During COVID-19
We all have the responsibility to make sure children are healthy, safe, and thriving – especially during challenging times. Parents and caregivers are their children’s most important
protectors and may need extra support during the COVID-19 pandemic. We encourage you to check in with caregivers and children you interact with to ask how they’re doing and what they need. Lending an ear and helping families access available supports can go a long way to supporting family well-being.
Thank you for doing your part to support Arizona’s children and families!
