COVID-19 critical frontline personnel are defined in Executive Order 2020-12 and include employees that ensure the delivery of healthcare, public safety, human services, grocery store and food bank services, or essential governmental operations, including child safety and adult protective services personnel.
If your job responsibilities are described above and you are impacted by school closures, you can access this child care by following the steps below:
- Find a child care provider near you. If you have children 12 and younger you can access child care through licensed child care providers across the state. There is also a list of unlicensed providers offering care for children at all ages, including 13 and up.
- Register for priority child care eligibility. If you qualify for care, you will be provided a letter of verification to bring to the child care provider. The registration will also determine if you qualify for financial scholarship. If so, you will be provided a confirmation letter indicating your financial scholarship which you will also need to provide to the child care provider.
As enrollment progresses, we will continue to assess capacity and demand - and work with partners to expand capacity and eligibility to provide continued support for front line workers and their families.
